History of Cousin Subs

The first Cousins Sub Shop was opened on June 19, 1972. The restaurant owners created their own unique recipe for bread and that become famed with the byline of the brand: “Better Bread. Better Subs.” which still holds true today. The bread is baked fresh several times a day in every Cousins store.

For more than 30 years, the store have grown to serve the fresh, wholesome sandwiches in more than 100 stores in six states and every product is baked with highest quality ingredients. The delicious hand-crafted sub sandwiches still keep the customers coming back for more.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Baker: This person is responsible for making a wide range of breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to recipe. he also has to ensure safety food preparation and must operate the baking and kitchen equipment properly.   The average wage for this position starts at $8+ per hour.

General Manager: This person will manage the complete operation of a restaurant. He/She is also responsible for the training and development the assistant managers and staff; leads the strategic planning and coordinates all the activities in the restaurant for the attainment of goals and builds a strong presence in the local community. His expected annual salary ranges $35K to $38K.

Shift Manager: This person is the one who primarily provides additional support to the General and Restaurant Managers on an intermittent basis by supervising shifts.   During a shift, the manager will perform many of the same duties as the associates in the restaurant.   His hourly salary is expected at $10-$11 per hour.

Prep Cook: This person is responsible to prepare/cook food for guests; ensure that all equipment, utensils and working areas are maintained for cleanliness; coordinate prep amounts with managers, follow recipe instructions, use checklists and prep sheets, ensure safe food handling guidelines.   The average wage for this position starts at $8+ per hour.
