Job Description/Wage Averages

Cook : This position is responsible to prepare and cook food using the restaurant   specifications in a timely manner. He/She must observe all food safety standards including proper food preparation.   The average wage for this particular position can start at $8 per hour.

Food and Beverage Server: This position has the responsibilities to request or take orders from and serve food and beverages to guests; check on guest satisfaction and handle the payment and complaints/concerns of customers. He/She must have the knowledge of service techniques, food and beverage product and practices of responsible alcohol service.   The average wage for this particular position can start at $3 per hour plus tips.

Host/Hostess: This person oversees the activities of dining room. He/She manages the personnel to provide fast and courteous service to guests; perform scheduling of dining ; greet guests, escorts them to tables, and provides menus; respond to complaints; assign work tasks and coordinate activities of dining room personnel.   The average wage for this particular position can start at $8 per hour.

Dishwasher: This person is responsible in ensuring that all dishes, glasses, utensils and equipment are cleaned, sanitized and stored in the proper place.   The average wage for this particular position can start at $8 per hour.

Supervisor:   As a supervisor, you’ll be in charge of making sure that the restaurant is running appropriately when the main manager isn’t in charge.   You’ll assist with making sure that the guests are happy as well as make sure that the employees are doing their job.   The average wage for this particular position can start at $11 per hour.
