The Smith & Wollensky   began in1891. It was in the structure that originally served as the headquarters for the First Corps of Cadets. The first floor gunroom, social hall, and museum floor have been converted to the main dining room. Smith & Wollensky has long been considered a premier steakhouse destination. It is offering a simple elegant food in a refined setting for a uniquely American dining experience.

In 1977 in New York, the new location and structure was established. Today, with  nine iconic and distinctively different locations, it continues to symbolize the timeless luxury of Prime USDA steaks, fresh seafood and award-winning wines;  fly in lobster daily and pastries made by hand.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Assistant General Manager: This position will provide work hand in hand with the manager in setting up the strategy, policies, and procedures for the guests and staff of the company. He/She is responsible for entire operation in General Manager’s absence. He/She will supervise operations to achieve targeted goals for food and beverage costs. He/She should ensure proper food-handling practices, waste control, ordering, receiving, and setting pars and sales forecasting; comply with company standards in the areas of cost and quality controls, company values and the image of the restaurant.

Bartender:   The position will serve food and alcoholic beverages to guests at the bar using the company procedure. He/She has to prepare alcoholic beverages for servers at the service bar window. He/She will be responding to questions and suggestively sells by making food and beverage recommendations; preparing beverage orders for guests; setting up, maintaining, restocking side work, and closing bar and bar service window stations.

Server:   The person will basically serve the guests’ orders quickly, efficiently, and with complete knowledge of food and beverage menus. He/She has to offer excellent customer service, and maintain station in a clean and orderly manner throughout shifts; accurately takes guest orders and follows all safety and sanitation policies.

Cashier: This person operates the cash register for he has to process cash payments and non-cash payments of the customers. He/She should be able to talk to the customers of other payment options available to them.
