History of Nathan’s Famous

Nathan’s Famous was founded Nathan Handwerker, a Polish imigrant who started his business in 1916 with a small hot dog stand in Coney Island, New York. These hot dogs are manufactured based on a recipe developed by his wife, Ida. In the over 95 years since the store was first opened, Nathan’s has obtained worldwide recognition for the unequaled quality and taste of its product. At present, Nathan’s has gained reputation for being among the highest quality hot dogs in the world – Nathan’s is sold and enjoyed in all 50 States and sold at over 40,000 food service and retail outlets.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Server: The server deals with the guests acordingly by responding to their needs; serve the ordered foods based on company standards and customer preferences; must act also as liason to the management and should ensure customer satisfaction.

Dishwasher: This person is responsible in ensuring that all dishes, glasses, utensils and equipment are cleaned, sanitized and stored in the proper place.

Sales Associate: The sales associate will make sure that each customer receives high quality services by providing a friendly environment, like greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service; maintain an awareness of all promotions; assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock; help customers in locating merchandise; communicate customer requests to management; help in completing price changes within the department; perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by any manager.

Cashier: He/She works directly with the restaurant manager, servers, and guests in all sales transactions. He/She may also screen and direct incoming phone calls, as well as handling to-go and pick-up food orders. Primarily, the cashier help the servers in the processing of bills-of-sale and credit card transactions.

Restaurant Manager: This position makes sure that the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably and everybody is working to achieve the company goals. He/She must to plan, direct and must coordinate a variety of activities of the restaurants. The manager is responsible for the business performance of their restaurant, maintaining high standards of food, service, and health and safety. He/She has to perform strategic planning, shift pattern organization and day-to-day management activities.
