History of Mr. Pickle

Mr. Pickle, Inc. is the combination of two companies that started in the early 1950s under the names of Jack Greenfield Pickle Works and Washington Pickle Works. These two companies owned by Irving Neihaus and Howard Wiseman merged in 1980 and was named  Mr. Pickle, Inc.

Mr. Pickle  has expanded its customer base and increased its buying power, as well as enhanced our pickle product line. Purchasing from the best and most consistent growers in the industry, our company flourished.

Unfortunately, with the untimely passing of our two founders, the stage was set for their sons to take over the reins and bring the company into the 21st century. We will continue supplying customers with gourmet pickle products well into the future, using our old fashioned formula for sour and half sour pickles.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Deli Clerk: This position is responsible in slicing, preparing, wrapping, pricing, and merchandising the department’s deli products which include deli meats, sandwiches, dips, cheeses, salads, gourmet and hot case items. He should help customers find the deli products and services they are looking for. Deli clerk works to help increase sales by giving food samples and by recommending additional items to customers.

General Managers: This person takes charge of the overall operation of the store. He sees to it that the company standard operating procedures are strictly adhered by all employees. He is also in charge in planning the activities of the store in order to achieve the company goals. He will hire, train and dispatch employees to the department where they can effectively apply their skills.

Assistant Managers: This person works with the general manager to achieve the goals of the company. He will be assigned to particular managerial tasks in the store and may act as the general manager when the later is absent.   He may also hire, train and supervise employees and will perform other tasks assigned to him.

Cashier: The cashier should be knowledgeable about the prices of the products of the store. He knows how to handle the customers properly and should receive payments and issue necessary change to the customers.
