McAlister’s Deli is a restaurant chain with humble beginnings which can be described to be simple idea of a restaurant novice. McAlister’s unique combination of hearty-sized deli fare, served quickly with a side of Southern charm made it even more a well loved restaurant. It was in 1989, when the original McAlister’s Deli restaurant  was opened in a converted gas station in Oxford, Mississippi. Then came many requests for franchises.

People who used to be in the restaurant crave for fresh tastes, quick service and a welcoming friendly atmosphere where they can relax for hours or eat and run. This is what McAlister’s Deli ® delivers plus a special and unique touch that the restaurant prides of with over 100 different items; sandwiches, spuds, salads, soups and sweets.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Restaurant Manager: This person leads all the restaurant operations and various activities of the personnel. He/She is engaged in strategic planning, setting sales goals and must ensure that everyone adheres to the standard policies of the company. He/She must be the one to hire and train employees and designate the positions they are suited. He/She must also make sure that the restaurant offers only high quality and unique services to its customers. He/She will receive an annual salary that ranges between $26k to $38k.

Shift Leader: The Shift leader mans the shift assigned to him. He/She is responsible for leading restaurant operations during a shift and should ensure that the company’s guidelines, policies and procedures are followed.   He/She is also responsible for delivering outstanding guest service, coaching, training and developing team members, and managing inventory as well as cash handling. He/She expects an hourly rate of $10.

Dishwasher: This person is responsible in marinating the dishes and kitchen utensils and kitchen equipment clean and organized. He/She will also perform inventory of kitchen utensils in a timely manner and must ensure that there will be an enough supply of utensils for the dining area.

Server: This person takes and delivers orders of the customers; he will also suggest menu and help the customers find what they want for food; he must also respond to inquiries and other guests’ needs. He/She must calculate bills accurately and works with the cashier in processing bills.
