The company is a chain of Canadian retail stores with headquarters in Richmond, British Columbia. Its main focus is on pharmaceuticals, electronics, housewares and cosmetics, with a limited choice of grocery items. London Drugs has 75 stores in the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia and uses more than 6,000 staff.

The company was established in 1945 as a small drugstore in Vancouver, British Columbia by Sam Bass. Afterward the store was sold to an American then back to a Canadian. In 1976 the business was purchased by the H.Y. Louie Group under the direction of President Tong Louie.

Job Description and Average Wage

Pharmacy Assistant: This position is in charge for helping the Pharmacists and Pharmacy Manager with daily operations of the Pharmacy Department.   Duties will comprise customer service, servicing the front counter, cashier duties, telephone inquiries and general housekeeping duties. Other duties comprise operation of the pharmacy computer. This assists in the processing of prescriptions and preparation of prescriptions, participation of ordering and receiving drug orders as well as management of the pharmacy inventory.

The averages salary is from $12-$13 per hour.

Beauty Advisor: As a Beauty Advisor, you will be liable for providing exemplary customer service by means of using their outstanding product knowledge of items carried within the Cosmetics Department. In addition to customer service duties, the individual will also execute other tasks for example daily housekeeping, helping with promotional displays, ensuring merchandising standards are met and inventory levels are sustained, interacting with cosmetic vendor representatives, along with other related duties as obliged.

Expected salary is around $11-$17 per hour.

Computer Specialist: The Computer Specialist position is accountable for providing technical sales assistance as well as technical repair services with computer products and peripheral devices. The individual in this position will be up to date on latest computer technology/products as well as attend product knowledge seminars.

The average hourly wage starts at $12-$17.
