Little Caesars Job Application

History of Little Caesars

Little Caesars was founded by Michael and Marian Ilitch in Garden City, Michigan. This is the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan which is a very large community. The couple began the first store May 8, 1959 and Mike wanted to call it simply Pizza Treat but his wife wanted the store to have a name that would be more recognizable. She always referred to Mike as her “Little Caesar” and so that is what the first store was called and it is still open today.

The store’s advertising catch phrase “Pizza! Pizza! Still stands out amongst the customers and will remain as part of their advertising slogan. The pizza was known as “Pizza by the Foot” with the original pizza being served in a single long package. The first Little Caesars served not only pizza but also hot dogs, chicken, shrimp, and fish. Today Little Caesars has discarded the long packaging for the more traditional round boxes. Also they advertise their pizza as “Hot-N-Ready” pizzas, large pizzas with popular toppings available for immediate takeout at a low price. They offer pizza along with Crazy Bread covered in garlic spread and parmesan cheese.
