Legal Sea Foods started in the year 1950 when George Berkowitz opened a fish market in the Inman Square neighborhood of Cambridge, Massachusetts.   The legal name is coined to imply quality and freshness.  In 1968, the Berkowitz family opened its first seafood restaurant, right next to the fish market.   In 1992, the business has expanded into new markets. Job Description/Wage Averages

Server: The duties and responsibilities of the server include: greeting the guests; taking and completing orders; communicating guests’ needs; ordering foods; delivering foods; ensuring guest satisfaction; communicating problems to the management; complying with company standards.   The annual salary ranges 10k to $37k.

Bartender: This position has the responsibilities of requesting or taking orders from and serve beverages to guests; checking on guest satisfaction and handling the payment and complaints/concerns of customers. He/She must have the knowledge of service techniques, food and beverage product and practices of responsible alcohol service. The annual salary ranges $19k to $21K.

General Manager: This position must ensure that the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably to attain the goals of the company. He/She will also engage in planning, directing and coordinating various restaurant activities. He/She is responsible for the business performance of the restaurant, maintaining high standards of food, service, and health and safety. The expected annual salary ranges $54k to $60k.

Host/Hostess: This person is engaged in the activities of dining room personnel to provide fast and courteous services to guests; perform scheduling of dining reservations. He/She has the responsibilities to greet guests, escorts them to tables, and provides menus; respond to complaints; assign work tasks and coordinate activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous services; inspect dining room serving stations to ensure neatness and cleanliness. The hourly rate for this position is in the average of $12 per hour.

Busser:   Working as a busser, you’re going to be in charge of keeping the restaurant clean, clearing tables, and cleaning dishes in the dishwasher.   You’re going to assist the kitchen staff with cleaning duties, mopping floors, bathrooms, and even the bar area.   The average wage for this particular position can start at $8 per hour.
