Kings Supermarkets  is a supermarket chain based in  Parsippany,  New Jersey.   It has 24 upscale grocery stores in northern New Jersey and one in  New York. Started in 1936, Kings was bought by UK retailer  Marks & Spencer  in 1988 and later sold to a US investor group consisting of  Angelo, Gordon & Co.  and  MTN Capital Partners LLC  in 2006. Kings operates today in a competitive market, operating in New Jersey alongside other chains such as  ShopRite  or  Stop & Shop. Since 75 years ago, the store’s mission remains — to be always passionate about food.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Assistant Store Manager: This position requires strong supervisory/management experience, preferably in an upscale retail environment, with excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. These are the qualifications that the Assistant manager must possess because he will be assisting the general manager for the attainment of the company’s goals.

Butchers: This person will perform the meat cutting functions- scraping and traying products, cubing steaks, grinding ground meats and cutting and processing meat according to requirement and perform all meat associate responsibilities as directed; weigh all meat items in accordance with specified procedures outlined by standard practice; and receive any meat delivery, code, rotate, and put in appropriate storage area.

Cashier: This person receives the payment of the customers whether in cash or through credit cards. He must have knowledge about price changes and adjustments and must also work for customer satisfaction.

Sales Associate: This position is in-charge in generating sales for the supermarket. He helps customers find out what they need and explains also the features of the products offered for sale. He will also help in the visual merchandizing of the products for sale.
