Teenagers usually have little to no knowledge on what they would like to become as they grow older. The case is different with Peter Cancro, at the age of 17; he bought a dying submarine sandwich chain. He/She renamed it Jersey Mike’s, and the rest as they say is history. With over 400 stores in the United States the success of Jersey Mike’s cannot be denied.

The manager for Jersey Mike’s works twice as hard to be able to exceed standards that the company set. The manager has several responsibilities to accomplish within the day. First the manager has to check the condition of the restaurant to identify what is needed before they open.

The manager considers employee performance and provides evaluation to each staff and makes sure that everyone performs their duties. The manager provides development tools to help the staff to improve their performance and to keep morale high. They also at times take part in the hiring process for possible employees.

• Salary: Managers are able to get $28,000 to $30,000 annually, this amount will depend on the experience they have.
• Bonuses: Bonus based on performance is not currently provided to the manager.
• Profit Sharing: Profit sharing is currently not provided by the company to the manager.
• Stock Options: Additional incentive such as stock options is not considered by the company.
