Founded back in 1972, the first Houlihan’s restaurant opened in Kansas City.   They are known for having an energetic atmosphere, equipped with a full service bar.   You can get everything from burgers to hot dogs.

Today in the 2000s, they are known for their premium way of treating customers, as well as how they are being adventurous and more.   This is definitely a unique experience compared to most.


Hours of Operation:   Open every day: 6:00am-11:00pm

Minimum Age to Work Here:   16 years old

Positions Available:   Waiter/Waitress, Prep Cook, Cook, Host/Hostess, Dishwasher, Assistant Manager, Restaurant Manager

Job Description / Average Wage

Server: You’re going to be in charge of serving the customers, taking orders, as well as bringing food to the table.   You will find that you will have to assist customers with their questions, as well as their complaints.   Your hourly wages will be anywhere from $2 to $5 a hour plus tips.

Front House Manager: You’re going to basically run the front of the restaurant.   You will be assigning tasks to employees, as well as helping them with any tasks that need to be done.   You will find that you may be paid on a salary basis.   The average wage is $32,000+ a year.

Busser: This person stocks the restaurant with glassware, dishware, etc.; polishes and stocks restaurant with silverware; ensure clean linen is on the table when resetting them; fills ice bins with ice; carry bus tubs to Dishwasher ;clean up spills and assists the servers.

Dish Washer: The person assigned in the position must ensure that all dishes, glasses, utensils and equipment are cleaned, sanitized and stored properly to maintain cleanliness.

Prep Cook: This position is responsible to Prepare/cook food for guests; make sure that all equipment, utensils and working areas are maintained for cleanliness; coordinate prep amounts, follow recipe instructions, use checklists and prep sheets;follow safe food handling guidelines.

Interview Tips

Houlihan’s job interviews are scheduled after the potential candidates are short listed. This will commonly take place a few days after you have submitted the relevant documents needed in the job application process.
