History of Herberger

Herberger’s is a chain of stores which started business in the 1927 in Osakis, Minnesota, United States. It currently operates 41 stores in nine states; more than one third of them are in Minnesota, where the chain maintained its headquarters for much of its history. In early 2006, Herberger’s is operated by The Bon-Ton, a major department store operator throughout majority of the locations in Northern United States.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Human Resources Manager: This position focuses on recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, associate relations and benefits administration in one of our many stores. The Human Resource department partners with the Store Management team to ensure that the customers are taken care of, our associates are successful and the store runs efficiently.

Assistant Manager:  It is primary job of the assistant manager to support the Store Manager to achieve the sales objectives, improve employee performance and ensure efficient store operations.   This also includes proper merchandising and maintaining excellent customer service standards and consistent coaching of the store team.

Sales Associate: This position is in charge in genarating sales. He/She must ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other aspects of in sales.

Sales Manager: Typically, sales manager is the in charge of the company’s sales program. He/She should delegate or assign sales territories, set or identify sales goals, and establish training programs for their sales representatives. Sales managers may also advise their sales representatives on ways to improve their sales performance, achieve goals and obtain expected quotas.

Store Manager: This person is in charge of the all the activities in the store. He/She should be engaged in proper planning and should set foals for the human resources to work on. He/She hires and trains employees as well. He/She must direct everyone for the attainment of sales goals.
