History of Haagen Daz’s

Reuben Mattus, a young entrepreneur started Haagen Dazs with its quality and finest ice cream. He/She had this dream of offering the finest ice cream and insisted on using only the finest, purest ingredients when he worked in his mother’s ice cream business selling fruit ice and ice cream pops from a horse drawn wagon in the bustling streets of the Bronx, New York. This is considered as the humble beginning of Haagen Dazs.

Häagen-Dazs started first sell three flavors: vanilla, chocolate and coffee. From a single store, Mattus unique ice cream recipes included dark chocolate from Belgium and handpicked vanilla beans from Madagascar so he have been also creating distinctive and indulgent taste experiences.

Häagen-Dazs ® products are enjoyed by discerning customers throughout the United States. Then in 1976, Mr. Mattus’ daughter Doris opened the first Häagen-Dazs ® shop. It was an immediate success, and its popularity led to a rapid expansion of Häagen-Dazs shops across the country. Since then, it has become available in 50 countries.

At present, Häagen-Dazs remains committed to developing excellent and new frozen dessert experiences with its new flavors every year.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Server: The server serves the ordered food of the customers. He/She is to take orders too and helps customers find the product they need. The hourly rate ranges $8 to $9.

Attendant: This is part of the Crew Member who is responsible for performing a variety of duties within a fast food establishment which may include cleaning the food or stock areas, operating fryers & microwaves, manning food preparation production line, assisting in the kitchen area, and maintaining inventory; performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management.   This is a non-exempt position and typically reports to the Store Manager.

Shift Supervisors: The responsibilities include: directing the daily operations of a restaurant ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation including product preparation and delivery customer relations; restaurant maintenance and repair inventory management; team management; recruiting and retention of team members; financial accountability ensuring that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer and other duties as required or assigned.

Store Manager: This person oversees the overall operation of the store. He/She must ensure that the company’s rules and procedures are observed. He/She is also engaged in planning the stores activities and to ensure that the members of the team or the employees are working towards the attainment of the company goals.
