History of Daily Grill

Daily Grill restaurants started in 1984 in Beverly Hills; it was formerly named as Grill on the Alley which evolved into one of the Los Angeles area’s best-known must-do places to dine.

Daily Grill provides a casual, familiar setting with attentive service, along with simply prepared, classic American fare at affordable prices. By 1994, three additional Daily Grills had opened in Los Angeles, one in Orange County, and a sixth debuting in Palm Desert in the El Paseo shopping center (the Rodeo Drive of the Desert). Then, more expansions are realized since then and expected, in the years onwards with several openings all throughout the different states.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Bartender: This position is responsible for liquor cost and inventory control; communicates with Guests and staff; keeps bar area and storeroom clean and organized; greets Guests entering and leaving restaurant; pours drinks for Servers; serves Guests at bar and bar tables; covers Cocktail position on occasion; seats Guests if Host/Hostess is away from station; restocks bar with glassware and drink ingredients; work safely and comply with the standard of non-negotiables.

Cocktail Server: The duties and responsibilities of the person in this position include completing drink order and serves; ordering and delivering drinks and food for guests; ensuring guest satisfaction; completing side work assigned; handling cash and negotiable.

Busser:   Stock restaurant with glassware, dishware, etc.; polish and stock restaurant with silverware; ensure clean linen is on the table when resetting them; rest tables; bring bread to tables; cut and prep bread; fill ice bins with ice; carry bus tubs to Dishwasher; mop bathrooms; clean up spills; assist servers; work safely and comply with the standard of non-negotiables

Expeditor: This position has an integral part of the service team. He/She runs food to table and works with the Server in the provision of table service; properly positions food at table; liaison between Server and kitchen staff; ensures proper portion control; ensures all garnishes are stocked and full; keeps expo area clean and organized; ensures trays are stocked and clean; ensures that order tickets are properly placed; responsible for timing of food orders and alerts management if there is a backlog; assembles orders; work safely and comply with the standard of non-negotiables.

PM Server: This person greets the Guests; complete beverage orders; communicates specials; orders and delivers food; ensures Guest satisfaction; communicate problems to management; complete sidework; responsible for the Guest experience from start to finish. Work safely and comply with the standard of non-negotiables.
