History of Computers Unlimited

Computers Unlimited was founded in 1978 by Michael Schaer in Billings, MT. It started to offer hardware and software solutions to local businesses. The company has grown out into similar businesses, developing software for the home oxygen and medical equipment industry and companies that specialize in home infusion therapy. Most recently, CU began offering software for the audiology market.

It was in April 2009, when Schaer’s son, David, took over the role as company president with the same commitment of designing solutions that meet and exceed the needs of customers. Computers Unlimited is giving a complete software package to different organization.

Job Description/Wages Ranges

Data Services Programmer: This person is in charge in assisting all departments at Computers Unlimited in finding solution of data related problems through programming and data manipulation services;   working with project leaders to convert customers data off of other computer systems and into TIMS format; helping the technical support in recovering the corrupted data. He/She will also help in the creation and maintenance of internal programs for customer services department, create new products for efficient way of accessing, displaying, and transmitting data. The annual expected salary can range $45K to $48K.

Software Developer: The primary responsibilities of the Software Developer include: developing the software system by adding new applications and enhancing the existing features; providing input into software design specifications, analysis and problem definitions as needed for new application development. The annual salary ranges $54K to $59K.

Software Tester: His primary responsibilities are: software testing and modifications, input program design, documentation of modified software, make sure to keep the customer systems current, and provide assistance to Application Support and other departments on an as the need arises.   The annual salary is $59 to $64K.

Marketing Manager: The Marketing Manager leads the multi-tiered communications plans, including creative strategy and execution. Basically, he is tasked to lead effective long-range marketing and advertising strategies for diverse markets; work for brand awareness across all markets; design strong inbound and outbound marketing strategies that work in tandem to create sales leads; apply web analytics to strengthen marketing strategies and see to it that the marketing department is well- equipped to meet all marketing/advertising needs and deadlines. The expected annual salary is $54K to $56K.
