History of Checkers Drive-In

Checkers & Rally’s restaurants were born to cater Americans’ cravings for a better tasting burger at affordable price. The Checkers & Rally is famed with its unique double drive-thru concept, over-the-top checkerboard squares, chrome styling, red neon signs and the food itself. Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. came out in the burger scene with their over-the-top flavors in 1986 in Mobile, Alabama; Rally’s joined the grill concept and started cooking in 1985 in Louisville, Kentucky. The company has maintained 200+ restaurant chain businesses in various Midwestern and South Eastern states. In 1999 Checkers & Rally’s successfully merged. Today, Checkers & Rally’s have more than 800 restaurants open in the United States.

Job Description/Wage Averages

General Manager: The General Manager (GM) is the Restaurant Leader. This position is key to the success of an individual restaurant. The GM is focused on sales goals, employee performance, and company policies and practices. They use the systems and processes in place to maximize our profits, satisfy our guests, and develop our teams. This position reports to the District Manager. The annual salary rate can range between $46k to $56k.

Shift Manager: Shift Manager: The Shift Manager is responsible for leading restaurant operations during a shift; must see to it that guidelines, policies and procedures of the company are followed.   The Shift Managers are also responsible for delivering outstanding guest service, coaching, training and developing team members, and managing inventory, labor and cash handling. This position will receive an hourly rate of $9.

Restaurant Crew: This position is in charge of taking and delivering orders; attending to customers’ needs and serving as liaison between the customers and the company; maintain the dining room area and must ensure customer satisfaction. The hourly average rate is $7.

Cashier: The cashier recieves the cash and non-cash payments of the customers; so, he needs to manage the money he holds in her shift; he must to process bills too.
