History of Bubba Gump Shrimp

First opened up back in 1996, you can find the first Bubba Gump Shrimp company in Monterey, California.   Inspired by the film, Forest Gump, they have over 30 locations operating throughout the world.   While many of these locations are in the United States, you can find some in Japan, as well as Malaysia and more.

Job Description / Average Wage

Waiter / Waitress: Like any typical waitstaff job, you will take orders, you will bring out food, as well as refill drinks and more.   You will make sure that the waitstaff is satisfied with their food order, and if they aren’t, you will do everything possible to ensure that they are happy.   The average wage ranges from $2 to $5 a hour plus tips.

Cook / Kitchen Staff: You will assist with prepping the kitchen, as well as making sure that the all the ingredients are properly stocked.   You will help open, close the kitchen, as well as assist the other cooks with cooking various dishes.   You will ensure that you cook all dishes according to the corporate plan.   The average wage ranges from $8 to $13 a hour.

Host / Hostess: Working in the front of the shop, you will help seat guests as they come in.   If the restaurant is busy, you will take reservations.     What makes a place like Bubba Gump Shrimp unique is that they also have a gift shop up front, where you can help customers with purchases here as well in your downtime.   The average wage is around $8 to $10 a hour.
