History of Beggars Pizza

Beggars Pizza began in 1976 with Larry and Peter Garetto who have been working so hard of bringing a delicious array of pizza and Italian food to Chicagoland. The original Beggars Pizza restaurant was in Blue Island, Illinois. The original Beggars Pizza restaurant was serving stuffed, deep-dish and thin-crust pizzas, authentic pasta meals, and delectable dinners. The Garetto Brothers strive to provide a family style atmosphere in their restaurants and a positive influence in the communities of their stores. It began franchising in the year 2004.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Cook : The cook prepares food using the restaurant  specifications  and by observing food safety standards and proper food preparation.     You’re going to prep orders that come through, keep the kitchen clean as well as make sure that the food is cooked according to corporate policy.   This position will generally start at $9 per hour.

Server: This position deals directly with the guest for they serve the orders of the guests; provides guests with a clean, comfortable environment for the guests’ unique dining experience; makes sure that every guest is thanked and invited to return.   This position will generally start at $2 to $3 per hour, plus tips.

Bartender: This person will provide beverages according to recipe and he is to maintain a well-presented, well-stocked, and clean beverage station.   This position will generally start at $9 per hour.

Host/Hostess: This person oversees the activities of dining room; supervises personnel to provide fast and courteous service to guests; performs scheduling of dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners. He/She has to provide menus; respond to complaints; inspect dining room serving stations to ensure neatness and cleanliness; may also help in hiring, training and discharging dining room personnel.   This position will generally start at $2 to $3 per hour, plus tips.

Cashier : A cashier operates the cash register; he should  know how to process cash payments and non-cash payments. He/She should be able to talk to the customers of other payment options available to them and must be knowledgeable about the promotional offerings of the store.   This position will generally start at $9 per hour.
