History of The Pantry

Based in Cary, North Carolina, The Pantry is a convenience store chain that was founded back in 1967.   With over 1,700 store throughout thirteen states today, you can find everything from coffee to gasoline.  With various unique promotions that the store holds, you’re going to find that some stores even have franchises built within such as Subway and Taco Bell.

Job Descriptions / Average Wage

Cashier: Working the front counter, you will assist customers as they come to the counter.  You will ring them up for gasoline, as well as ring up any order that they have.  You will count change, as well as help them with any questions that they may have.  In your downtime, you will help with cleaning up around the store, as well as paperwork.  You will also make sure that the coffee is refilled as well as make sure that the food is properly cooked as well.  Any problems will be reported to the main manager.  The average wage is $7 to $9 a hour.

Team Member: As an associate, you will help stock shelves, as well as make sure that the store remains cleaned.  You will keep the floors clean, as well the bathrooms.  You will take out trash, as well as help assist customers.  You will also help with cleaning the outside parking lot.  The average wage is around $7 to $9 a hour.

Supervisor / Manager: As a manager, you’re going to be responsible for watching over the entire shift.  You will assign tasks, as well as help open and close the shop when deemed necessary.  You will also assist the team members with any job that they need help with.  The average wage starts around $8+ a hour.

Store Manager:  As the store manager, you’re going to make sure that the store is being ran according to company policy.  You’re going to assist with assigning tasks, hiring employees, filing various paperwork as well as attending district meetings.  The average wage for this position can range from $12 to $15 per hour greatly depending upon the experience.
