History of Kumon Learning Center
Founded back in 1958, Toru Kumon created a learning center today that helps kids read, as well as learn other subjects such as Math. Job Description / Average Wage
Tutor: You will assist the children with any subjects they need help with. You will follow company policy, and help students with everything from math, to science. You will receive tasks from the main manager on what to do on a daily basis. Your average pay will be anywhere from $7 to $9 a hour.
Teaching Assistant: You will assist the main teacher in the learning center. You will help with tutoring, organizing kids, as well as helping them with whatever problems that they may encounter. The average assistant gets paid $8 to $10 a hour.
Receptionist: When you work as a receptionist, you’re going to help with answering the phone, setting up appointments, as well as helping parents with any questions or concerns that they may have. When the children are ready to be tutored on a day, you will assist the teachers in the classrooms with any issues that they have, or any projects that they need help with. The receptionist usually answers to the main general manager. The average wage is anywhere from $7 to $9 a hour.
Shift Supervisor: When the general manager isn’t around, you’re going to help run the show.
