History of Great Harvest Bread Co.

Great Harvest Bread Co. was first established in the year 1970s. The founders were Pete and Laura Wakeman, who baked amazing scratch-made whole grain bread to help pay their tuition at Cornell University. Then, neighbors asked about starting up their own Great Harvest paving way for a franchising business in the year 1978 and this was then followed with more store openings. Today there are more than 200 Great Harvest bakeries located across the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.
