Pharmacist: Basically, the pharmacist’s role is to dispense medications following prescriptions issued by physicians, dentists, or other authorized medical practitioners. Other duties and responsibilities include, managing pharmacy operations, hiring and supervising staff, performing administrative duties, and buying and selling non-pharmaceutical merchandise; assessing the identity, strength and purity of medications; reviewing prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability; providing information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage; ordering and buying pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, and drugs, maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly; maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries of poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs and advising customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment and health-care supplies.
Cashier: The cashier receives the customers payments of the amount being purchased by the customers; he also issues change if necessary and as well as the receipts.
Store Assistant: The store assistant is usually present in drug stores to help in entertaining customers and to provide some of the customers’ needs which do not necessarily need pharmacist’s services. He/She may answer telephone calls, arrange stocks in the shelves and do some errands in the store.
