History of Thai Airways

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Thailand. It manages domestic, regional and intercontinental flights radiating from its home base in Bangkok to key destinations around the world and within Thailand. The company’s fully paid up share capital amounts to 16,988,765,500 Baht and is 53.77%   owned by the Ministry of Finance, the Thai Government. Thai Airways International was established in 1960 as a joint venture between Thailand’s domestic carrier, Thai Airways Company and Scandinavian Airlines System with the Scandinavian carrier originally providing a 30% share capital of two million Baht. SAS also provided operations, managerial and marketing expertise, with training assistance aiming at building a fully independent national airline within the shortest possible time. Thai nationals, through training and experience, were gradually able to presume full managerial liability and the number of emigrant staff duly reduced until, in 1987, expatriates accounted for less than one percent of staff based in Thailand.

Job Description / Average Wage

In-flight Service Agent:   As an In-flight Service Agent   your daily task and responsibilities include:

  • Manage and make appointment with sub-contracted catering company to meet the aircrafts for meal loading and unloading.
  • Open and close In Flight Commercial Stock Report in the present of Flight Attendant.
  • To set up Meal Order and Pre-Booked Meal Order during weekend.
  • Check and settle In Flight Commercial Stock Report with the inventory.
  • Clear all paper works and filing for head office and audit purpose.

The average wage is around $9 to $22 a hour.

Station Manager: As the Station Manager of Thai Airways your duties and repsonsibilities are as follows:

  • Accountable to Guest Service Manager to guarantee the smooth daily station operations and supervision station daily activities.
  • Provide managerial and clerical support to personnel within the station.
  • Coordinate and observe station performance.
  • Interface with all agencies pertaining to performance and productivity of the station and Air Asia

Customer Representative: Your main responsibility is as listed below.
