History of Soak City

Knott’s Soak City is a chain of three seasonal water parks owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company of Southern California. This water park was first opened in Buena Park in 1999 under the name Soak City U.S.A. Soak City water park opened in 1988. The original complex consisted of 10 slides. In 1990, Main Stream and Tadpole Town were added;  1995, Zoom Flume, Renegade River and Choo-Choo Lagoon; in 1997, 22,500-sq. ft. wave pool, an action slide area with three twisting enclosed inner tube raft slides, an activity pool section with various interactive water elements and an adult activity area with whir pools and a swim up refreshment center in 2004, splash zone was added.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Server: The primary responsibility of this position is to greet guests and accurately take and serve food orders in a timely manner. Server positions are available in various   restaurants located in the theme park. Must adhere to all Company food handling and sanitation guidelines as well as Company alcohol control guidelines. Have to maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned work areas. Conduct sales transactions on a point of sale cash register. Accurately complete Company cash handling and department paperwork.

Ride Operator: The primary responsibility of a Ride Operator is to assist each guest in safely riding each ride. This includes greeting the guest at the entry of a ride; explaining the limitations and restrictions to the guest; seating the guest in the ride; securing safety restraints; and operating the ride. A Ride Operator is also responsible for cleaning their assigned ride.

Supervisor:   Supervisor is for the seated dining and quick service restaurants operations. The successful candidate will possess only the highest standards in terms of service, quality, and cleanliness. Strong leadership and guest relations skills are essential. The hourly rate is $8.

Ride Maintenance: This position is responsible for ensuring and maintaining a high safety standard, ride reliability, optimum capacity, and ride/attraction aesthetics for our guests and employees. Monitor employee performance (Hourly). Coordinate and complete special projects as assigned. Prepare, follow-up, and complete assigned Ride Rehabilitations (Job scope, assigned tracking numbers, personnel assignments, part ordering, documentation, and completion). Monitor daily ride performance, coordinate repairs, and documentation of repairs. Perform all Duty Supervisor assignments when scheduled.

Front Desk attendant: This position is responsible for interacting with guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Register guests, assign rooms, check-out guests, arrange for special requests, provide hotel and area information, answer phones, and ensure that all operating procedures are followed. Monitor and keep pre-registration current. Dispense and account for package tickets, coupon books, and discount cards. Accurately total guest balances and collect payment. Use proper mail, package, and message handling procedures. Perform various basic clerical duties.
