RaceTrac Petroleum Job Application

History of RaceTrac Petroleum

RaceTrac Petroleum, Inc. is a corporation that manages a chain of gasoline stations and convenience stores across the Southern United States. The firm is Georgia’s third biggest private company, with sales of $5.5 billion in 2009. The company was established by Carl Bolch Sr. in 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri, with his primary stores operating under the name Carl Bolch Trackside Stations. In 1959, Bolch relocated and purchased the Oil Well Company of Opp, Alabama, which consisted of various independent outlets across rural Alabama. His son, Carl Bolch Jr., who succeeded his father as a chief executive, joined the corporation in Montgomery, Alabama in 1967. After establishing the concept of self-service gasoline in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, the company moved its headquarters in 1976 to Atlanta, Georgia, and implemented the brand “RaceTrac” for its company-operated stations. RaceWay stations, managed by contractors, continue as a part of RaceTrac Petroleum.
