History of Piccadilly Cafeteria

Piccadilly Cafeteria was first opened in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the year 1944. Since then, Piccadilly has grown into more than 100  restaurants operating in 11 states, including a major expansion in 1996 when the company took over one of its major competitors, Morrison’s Cafeterias. Piccadilly offers a wide-ranging menu of straightforward, homestyle meals, entrées, sides and desserts at affordable prices.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Associate General Manager: This person works with the general manager in overseeing the entire restaurant operations. He/She will help in coordinating with the restaurant staff and in planning for the various activities to achieve the goals of the company. He/She must also help in ensuring that everyone works according to the standards set in the company. The expected annual salary ranges $38k to $46k.

Help Desk: This position primarily works in attending the needs of the customers in the restaurant. He/She is to respond to inquiries and deal with the guests’ complains and other needs. The expected hourly rate ranges $14 to $15.

Server: This position has the responsibilities of taking orders from and serves food and beverages to guests; checking on guest satisfaction and handling the payment and complaints/concerns of customers. He/She must have the knowledge of service techniques, food and beverage product and practices of responsible alcohol service.   The average wage for this position starts at $3 per hour plus tips.

Dishwasher: This person is responsible in making sure that all dishes, glasses, utensils and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized and stored to maintain cleanliness.   In your downtime, you’re going to be in charge of cleaning up the rest of the restaurant, cleaning the kitchen as well as putting the dishes away in the appropriate places.   The expected hourly rate ranges $7 to $9.

Cashier: The cashiers work directly with the restaurant manager, servers, and guests in all sales transactions. Cashiers are responsible for screening and directing incoming phone calls, as well as handling to-go and pick-up food orders. Basically, cashiers help the servers in the processing of bills-of-sale and credit card transactions.   The expected hourly rate ranges $7 to $9.
