History of Magic Mountain

Magic Mountain is owned and operated privately by a family. It’s August 12, 1986 when it was started to be constructed. It’s more than 600 construction workers work together to complete the park in less than a year. Magic Mountain finally opened its doors on June 26, 1987.

As the park came under new management in 1999, many enhancements, additions and improvements have been made. Magic Mountain had branched out many stores with different names and locations. In 2002, the Tornado slide opened. Twist and Shout were added in 2005, and ProRacer in 2006.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Park Attendant: This position will include working in many areas of the park: giftshop, landscaping, food service, maintenance, mini-golf, front entrance, and ticket booth.

Security Officer: This person enforces the policies of the Magic Mountain. He sees to it that people who entered the park are secured and free from hazards.

Guest Screener: Job includes screening the guests through the metal detectors, performing hand-held metal detector screenings, answering guest questions, patrolling ride attraction lines if needed, interacting with guests concerning metal detector issues and queue line situations, assisting guest with directions and maps, and writing reports and recording pertinent information.

Ride Operators: This person sees to the ride equipment are in good condition. He receives the tickets for the rides and will ensure that everyone follows the rules when taking rides.

Cashiers: The cashier receives the payment for the park amenities. He knows the prices as well as the discounts if there any.
