El Torito was founded in 1954 and has been a pioneer in the California full service Mexican casual dining restaurant segment. It is considered as the largest Mexican restaurant brand in California in terms of number of restaurants and operates franchise locations in Japan, Turkey and the Middle East. El Torito serves authentic Mexican dishes made with the finest ingredients available like salsas made fresh throughout the day to ensure the ultimate in flavor, Tableside Guacamole prepared with only Haas avocados and handmade tamales prepared daily in the traditional way – wrapped in corn husks for the best taste and to retain moisture. Job Description/Wage Averages

Assistant Manager: This position will support the General Manager in setting up and planning for strategies, policies, procedures. He/She will also supervise operations to achieve targeted goals for food and beverage costs; help in product management like food-handling practices, waste control, ordering, receiving; ensure that the company comply with company standards in the areas of cost and quality controls. The annual salary ranges $38k to $35K.

Restaurant Manager: This position makes sure that the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably. He/She will oversee a variety of activities of the restaurants. The manager is responsible for the business performance of their restaurant, maintaining high standards of food, service, and health and safety. The expected annual salary ranges $37k to $46k.

Server: Servers are responsible attending and responding to the guests’ needs. They take orders and offer suggestions based on guests’ preferences, and present daily specials.The hourly rate is at the average of $8.

Host/Hostess: This person oversees the activities of dining room and facilitates the activities of the dining room personnel for a fast and courteous service to guests; he is also responsible for arranging and scheduling reservations; greeting and escorting the guests, providing menus; responding to complaints; inspecting dining room serving stations to ensure neatness and cleanliness. The average hourly rate is $9.
