History of Eat’n Park

Eat’n Park started as the first Pittsburgh-area drive-in restaurant with carhops. On June 6, 1949, Eat’n Park began with a tiny, two-tone yellow, 13-seat restaurant in Pittsburgh’s suburban South Hills and since then, it came out successful — this young company opened a second Pittsburgh restaurant and has grown out   to over 75 restaurants throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio, with over 8,000 employees.

Eat’n Park has succeeded in coping up with the changes through time with modifications in dining style, exterior and interior building designs, numerous menu selections, and other activities geared towards the attainment of goals as well as to maintain customer satisfaction.

Job Description/Wage Averages

General Manager: This position coordinates staff and so he must possess strong sales building skills, knowledge of profit and loss, excellent communication skills, and a positive, results oriented attitude. He/She has to ensure that the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably and everybody is working to attain the company goals. He/She has to plan, direct and must coordinate a variety of activities of the restaurants. The manager is responsible for the business performance of their restaurant; ensure high standards of food, service, and health and safety.

Chef:  In the chef’s hand lies the high volume of kitchen works and assists in establishing and enforcing food specifications, recipes and sanitation; control food and labor costs while ensuring a safe and high quality food service.

Server: This position is in charge of taking orders from and serving  food and beverages to guests; checking on customer satisfaction and handling the payment and complaints/concerns of customers. He/She must have the knowledge of service techniques, food and beverage product and practices of responsible alcohol service.

Host/Hostess: This person supervises dining room personnel; schedules and arranges dining reservations ; greets  and escorts guests to tables, and provides menus; respond to complaints; assigns work tasks and coordinate activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous services; and to ensure customer satisfaction.
