Baskin-Robbins was founded by Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins two brothers’ in-law who merged their two ice cream shops. Baskin-Robbins claims to be the world’s largest ice cream franchise with more than 5,800 locations. In the United States there are over 2,800 locations. The rest of the ice cream stores are located in 30 different countries. Burt Baskin started out owning Burt’s Ice Cream Shop and Snowbird Ice Cream shop which Snowbird Ice Cream Shop featured 21 flavors of ice cream.
Today Baskin-Robbins is known for its “31” flavors slogan. The reason they come up with the idea of 31 flavors is so that customers could have a different flavor everyday of the month. Since Howard Johnson was famous for its 28 flavors they realized that they would need more flavors and both Burt and Irv believed that customers should be able to taste the different flavors. The boys come up with the idea of the little pink ice cream spoon which enabled people to get a small taste of the delicious ice creams.

Ice Cream Scooper: The person who works as the ice cream scooper takes care of the customer’s orders scooping the ice cream flavors into a cup or bowl and finishing off the treat with whatever specific items the customer wants such as: bananas, cake, cherries, strawberries, whip crème, nuts and more. The average ice cream scooper starting age is $8.25 an hour.
Server: The server is basically the same position as the ice cream scooper but according to the area that they work maybe referred to as the server. The position requires that they scoop out the delicious flavors of ice cream putting it in a cone, cup or bowl and dressing it with the many delicious things that go along with eating sundaes, splits and other arrangements. Team Leader: The team leader is responsible for the team making sure that they have a clean uniform, know how to make the ice cream treats, respect the customers and reporting to the owner whenever there is a problem during their shift. They also must make sure that the cash drawer is kept in balance and the area is kept clean. Since the stores are usually franchised the amount the team leader makes depends on the owner.
