History of Fresh Choice

The Fresh Choice is a self-service restaurant that was launched in 1986. Fresh Choice has provided diners with a wide selection of tasty, fresh, high-quality food at an economical price. There are 29 restaurants under the Fresh Choice brand name and 1 under the Zoopa brand name. The restaurants are located in California, Washington and Texas.

Fresh choice provides a selection of food stations, serving freshly prepared Pastas, Soups, Pizza and Baked Goods and fresh fruit. Fresh Choice has locally grown fruits and vegetables so the customers can enjoy the freshest tasting produce every time they dine.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Baristas: This position has the following responsibilities: Engage every Guest every time, providing them with any assistance they may need and knowledgeable answers to any questions they may have. Consistently provide beverages to recipe in a friendly Guest-first manner; to maintain a well-presented, well-stocked, and clean beverage station. Work with other Crewmembers in all daily tasks.

Cashier: He/She is to greet every Guest and merchandise beverages verbally and visually; handle cash properly, accurately and in a timely manner; thank every Guest. Also, assist other Crewmembers when needed.

Chef Host: This person is tasked to greet and communicate to every Guest, provide our guests with any assistance they may need and answer any questions they may have. Also, make sure their meal gets off to a great start and assist other Crewmembers whenever possible.

Dish Washer: This person has to ensure that all dishes, glasses, utensils and equipment are cleaned, sanitized and stored to maintain cleanliness.

Prep Cook: Prepare/cook food for guests. Ensure that all equipment, utensils and working areas are maintained for cleanliness. Coordinate prep amounts with managers, follow recipe instructions, use checklists and prep sheets, responsible for following safe food handling guidelines.

Salad Chef: Maintain salad bar to Fresh Choice standards of proper stocking, cleaning, freshness, and presentation.

Shift Manager: He/She is responsible for assisting the management team in the successful operation of the Fresh Choice unit that they are working in, both when working an hourly position as well as when managing a shift.

Soup/Pasta/Baker: This person has to serve safe, great tasting, fresh, hot, soups, sauces, rice and pizzas to the Guests. Provide assistance and knowledgeable answers to all questions. Maintain all sanitation and presentation standards at all times. Greet every Guest every time.
