Walgreens is one of America’s largest pharmacies, and if you’re looking to get a job here as a manager, or any type of management job for that matter, you’re probably wondering what the job is all about.

You’re going to find that while the Walgreens franchise isn’t the biggest, when it comes to the store size, you will find that there are plenty of management opportunities available.  Listed below are some management salaries that you can expect.

Store Manager

  • Salary: A store manager here is paid on a salary basis.  You can expect to earn anywhere from $49,000 to as much as $80,000 a year, depending on experience.
  • Bonuses: Walgreens is very generous when it comes to giving out bonuses.   Depending on payroll, and other performance factors, your bonus can range from $2,000 to as much as $35,000 extra annually.
  • Profit Sharing: Profit sharing does happen with the Walgreen companies, but you will find that it isn’t as high as the bonuses.  Expect profit sharing to hover around $500 to $2,000+ yearly.
  • Stock Options: Walgreens generally doesn’t give out stock options.

Assistant Manager

  • Salary: As an assistant, you can be paid hourly, or salary, depending on your position.  Your pay can range anywhere from $34,000 to as much as $60,000 a year.
  • Bonuses: Assistant managers do get bonuses, and while they aren’t as high as the main manager, you can still receive them.  They will range from $75 to as much as $4,000 a year.
  • Profit Sharing: Profit sharing generally doesn’t happen with assistants.  If anything, it may vary from $100 to $2,000 a year extra.
  • Stock Options: Walgreens generally doesn’t give out stock options.

  • Hourly Assistant Manager:  $14 to $20 a hour
  • Pharmacy Manager:  $46 to $72 a hour
  • Certified Assistant:  $14 to $25 a hour
