Job Description / Average Wage

Truck Driver: This is the main position with Swift that will require a little education, such as getting your CDL.  Once you complete this process, you will be in charge of running routes, according to your schedule.  You will have to deliver the products on time, in a professional manner.  Truckers report that they make anywhere from $1,800 to as much as $3,500 a month.

Recruiter:  Your job will rely heavily on finding new recruits for the company.  You’ll find new drivers as well as customer service agents and help fill other positions with the company.  You’ll network at career fairs, through the Internet as well as through other avenues.  The average wage for this position starts at $34,000 a year.

Maintenance:  You’re going to assist with trucks that break down as well as make sure that all trucks are maintained properly.  Working in a garage, you’ll assist drivers with any truck problems that come into the shop.  The average wage starts at $34,000 a year.

Driver Manager:  You’re going to be in charge of helping with routes as well as making sure that the drivers are on the right routes at the right times.  You will also assist with drivers with any problems that they may have.  The average wage for this position can start at $40,000 per year.

Operations / Customer Service: This job is going to vary on positions.  You can do everything from answering phones to overlooking the trucking schedules.  There are many jobs that are available in the operations center.  The average wage for these jobs are around $9+ a hour.
