Sherwin-Williams Paint stores began in Cleveland, Ohio by two men who founded it in 1866. Henry Sherwin and Edward Williams began the store and today they are considered one of the largest in the building materials industry. The company is a part of the Fortune 500 companies of America.
They primarily engage in the manufacture, distribution, and sale of paints, coatings and related products to professionals, industrial, commercial and retail customers. They are known mostly through their name Sherwin-Williams Paints but they do have other segments that they are known by such as Consumer, Automotive Finishes, and International Coatings.
Job Description/ Average Wage
Associate: As an associate, you’re going to help all customers that come into the store. Here, you’re going to help them with questions about the paint, helping them pick out their accessories, as well as helping with some tips. You’re going to also help with many other various duties such as helping with mixing the paint and more. The average wage is anyhwere from $8 to $13 a hour.
Cashier: During busy times, the cashier is going to help ring up customers, as well as handle transactions that deal with cash, credit cards and more. You’re going to also help with many other things such as assisting the associates, helping in the backroom with organization and more. The average wage is anywhere from $8 to $10 a hour.
Store Manager: The person who is the store manager is in charge of sales, production, management skills, and other related tasks. It is important that they have knowledge of paints and how they mix together. They must be friendly to the customers, able to train new people, and maintain and operate the Sherwin-Williams Paint stores. The average wage is $46,947 per year.
Assistant Store Manager: The assistant store manager is responsible for the operations of the store opening and closing. They must make sure that the merchandise is ordered and that the old merchandise is disposed of properly. The assistant manager is responsible for scheduling and making the bank deposits. He/she has a multitude of daily tasks to do along with end-of-the-month procedures.
