The concept of Ponderosas has been into franchising since 1966, and now, it has grown to over 225 company-owned and franchised restaurants in 15 States and six countries and territories outside the United States. It is a casual dining restaurant headquartered in Hill City, SD.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Dishwasher: This person is responsible in making sure that all dishes, glasses, utensils and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized and kept in a clean storage area.  In your down time, you’ll assist with other duties such as cleaning the restaurant, wiping down tables and ensuring that the floor stays clean.  The wage for this particular position is going to start at $8 per hour.

Prep Cook: This person is responsible in preparing food for guests; ensuring that all equipment, utensils and working areas are maintained for cleanliness; coordinating prep amounts with managers, following recipe instructions, using checklists and prep sheets, ensuring safe food handling guidelines.  The wage for this particular position is going to start at $8 to $11 per hour.

General Manager: This position mans the restaurant operation in efficient and profitable manner; and ensure that everybody is working for the attainment of company goals. He/She is engaged in planning, directing, and coordinating variety of activities of the restaurants. The manager is responsible for the business performance of their restaurant, maintaining high standards of food, service, and health and safety.  The wage for this particular position is going to start at $14 per hour.

Waitress: This person has the responsibilities like checking patrons’ identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages and ensuring that customers are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems; escorting customers to their tables; giving information on how menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods; informing customers of daily specials; preparing checks for the total meal costs; presenting menus removing  dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning; serving food and/or beverages to customers; preparing and serving specialty dishes at tables as required. The hourly rate  is in the average of $3, plus tips.
