History of Papaya

In 2003 PAPAYA was founded by Gina & Anahata Katkin.  PAPAYA started with just 20 blank greeting card designs in a southern California dining room. Many of the designs originated from Anahata’s handmade art journals and were adapted for print. Today, PAPAYA! is celebrated all over the world by retailers and fans alike. PAPAYA! is now a the leading manufacturer enjoying a constant stream of new ideas, inspirations, materials, and added artists. PAPAYA is located in beautiful southern Oregon.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Wholesale Customer Relationship Manager: This positions primary focus is providing exceptional service to our wholesale customers. The company is striving to build, grow and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts as well as cultivating new account relationships. Office work will involve customer communication and preparation for area visits. The salary depends on the applicant’s experience.

Graphic Production/ Production Artist: Full time design responsibilities span from catalogues and marketing materials to interpreting original artwork for various layouts for print and manufacturing purposes. The company is looking for a confident designer with refined skills, creativity and stamina! We are looking for a talented individual for a long range, career relationship. Designer must work well within the framework of PAPAYA’s creative vision, accept directives and corrections, and have an exceptional eye for detail. Salary will be heavily dependent upon experience.

Retail Sales Associate:     Papaya is looking for outgoing, warm, and dedicated personalities with experience and excellence in the service industry. Must be truly self assured, truly self motivated and have a genuine work ethic. He must possess an interest in fashion & beauty and assisting others.

Cashier:     This person is responsible for receiving the payments of the customers and in dealing with the financial matters of the store where she is assigned.

Animator:  Animator works to the images can be made up of digital or hand-drawn pictures, models or puppets. Animator will produce 2D animation, 3D model-making animation, stop frame or computer-generated animation. Computer-generated animation features strongly in motion pictures needed for the company. The annual salary is $46K to $50K.
