History of Maaco

Maaco, also known as Maaco Collision Repair and Auto Painting was founded back in 1972 by Anthony A Martino and Daniel Rhode.   As of today, they have over 500 stores that are located nationwide.  They do over 60+ million in revenue each, and every year.

Maaco specializes with painting, as well as the collision process.  In 2008, they were purchased by Driven Brands, after the founder, Anthony Martino died in 2008.

Job Description / Average Wage

Front Office / Customer Service: You will help answer phone calls, as well as help provide estimates and more for those that bring their car in.  You will also fill out paperwork, as well as help customers get rung up at the register.  In your downtime, you may help around the shop cleaning up as well as do various paperwork for the managers on duty.  This job will pay anywhere from $8 to $13 a hour.

Painter / Apprentice: This job is going to require a little bit of experience, as well as an education at a local skills trade based school.  You will be responsible for helping customers with what they need, with either painting, or a collision process.  You will assist with painting cars, as well as helping with repairing them.  Before any job is completed, you’re going to help consult with them on what’s going to be done as well as give them a quote on what it’s going to cost in order to get the job done properly.  The average wage starts around $10+ a hour.

Paintline Tech: You will start off at this position more than likely.  You will sand down cars, mask them, as well as help with the detailing process.  You will also ensure that the car meets all Maaco guidelines.  The average wage for this job is $8 to $11 a hour.

Manager:  Working the entire store, you’re going to be responsible for making sure that the entire store is running properly.  You’re going to help run the front desk as well as make sure that the store opens and closes properly.  You’ll set employee schedules as well as make sure that all customers are happy with their experience.  The average pay is anywhere from $38,000 to $55,000 a year.
