History of Kroger

Kroger was created by in 1883 in Cincinnati, Ohio by a man named Bernard Kroger.  Today, it’s the country’s largest grocery chain and second largest by volume, following only Walmart.  Kroger allso has some subsidiaries such as King Scoopers, City Market, Fry’s, Baker’s, and more.

Job Descriptions / Wage Averages

Cashier: You will be responsible for ringing up customers at the front of the store.  You will assist customers with coupons, questions, as well as assist the bagger with bagging groceries.  You may also have to run the U-scan lanes.  This job pays an average of $7 to $11 a hour.

Application Architect: The Application Architect is accountable for converting functional requirements into technical software design solutions.  This role crosses manifold business areas, disciplines and applications.  The role also comprises teaming with Application Managers to rationalize their Application Portfolio and develop tactical roadmaps for every core application.  The annual salary for this position is from $48,000-$56,000.

Regional Project Manager: This implement new store and remodel projects at the lowest cost and in the shortest time period reliable with the approved scope of work and appropriated funds. This also manages as the Company’s representative on assigned construction store projects. The position will evaluate architectural documents sufficient for bidding installation of remodels through suitable contractors, receive proposals, as well as award contracts.  The yearly salary is around $90,000-$98,000.

Store Associates: The store associate is accountable for providing superior customer service in pristine clean stores under the guidelines of the company policies and all pertinent laws. This makes sure that each customer receives prompt and courteous service. Production Supervisor: The Production Supervisor is accountable for planning, coordinating and supervising daily activities of assigned area of accountability to assure efficient production. This plans, synchronizes and advises department employees of work to be completed daily. A production supervisor supervises daily set up of machinery and equipment prior to production for efficient and effectual operation.  The hourly salary is around $15-$17.
