History of King’s Island

The Kings Island Resort and Conference Center is a theme park that is owned and operated by American Hospitality Management, Inc. In this amusement park you will find the Coasters are king and the legendary-The Beast, the world’s longest wood coaster, is thrill machine royalty.

The Peanuts characters, such as Charlie Brown and Linus, come to life in Planet Snoopy and provide inspiration for some of the rides, including Sally’s Sea Plane, The Great Pumpkin Coaster, and Woodstock Express. The park offers shows as well, including musicals and fireworks. The adjacent Soak City water park is included with admission and offers slides, a wave pool, interactive water play station, and a lazy river. Featured attractions include Tazmanian Typhoon, a funnel ride, and Surfer’s Paradise, a FlowRider surfing attraction.

Job Description/Wage Averages

Security- Lost and Found/Pet care Associate: Monitor pets utilizing the Pet Care Center.

Give verbal directions and assist guests and associates; including lost and/or separated guests.   Assess, resolve and contain situations and take appropriate action steps based upon policies and training.

Admissions Associate: Admissions Associates welcome guests in our toll plaza, ticket booths and turnstiles, as well as process season passes and provide information about the park. Specifically, he will cheerfully greet guests entering and exiting park; provide information regarding admission options, rides, attractions and special events; utilize computer to make and process season passes and operate and balance a cash register.

Food & Beverage Auditor: Report to director of Food & Beverage on all cash activities, audits and ongoing investigations. Reconcile reports and track sheets between Finance, Inventory Control and Food and Beverage locations to ensure correct reporting. Respond to and take appropriate action to resolve concerns and complaints from park guests and associates. Learn and use clear and concise specific lines of communication between management, associates and other divisions. Conduct audits on locations and associates using several methods designed to assist in the training of associates and aid in discovering specific problems with associates or the cash handling policies. Compile and distribute financial reports to full-time management and the director of Food & Beverage.

Rides Associate: This person will test equipment daily before opening the ride to guests. Enforce ride restrictions and recommendations; restrict the number of guests on the loading platform to the number who can be seated on the ride; ensure safe operation of the ride; make certain that queue lines are safe and orderly; assist with the loading and unloading of ride to include small children and guests with a disability. The hourly average rate is $7 to $8.
