History of Kings Family Restaurant
Kings Family Restaurant was established in North Versailles, Pennsylvania in 1967 with the name Kings Country Shoppes and was later changed to Kings Family Restaurants. This has expanded to several restaurants. Kings Restaurants opened their 34th restaurant in Neville Island, PA in the year 2009. This restaurant was a new concept called Kings Hometown Grille. It features a completely new design and layout, as well as a different menu from most King’s locations. Unlike any other locations in the chain, Kings Hometown Grille also offers alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine and cocktails.
Kings’ success is shared with many charity organizations – Leukemia Society of Western Pennsylvania, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western Pennsylvania.
Job Description/Wage Averages
Cashier: This position must greet every guest and merchandise the products and services of the restaurant verbally and visually. He/She is to handle cash from payments of the customers; and he must deal with customer’s with all courtesy. The average wage starts at $8 per hour.
Dish Washer: This position is to ensure that all dishes, glasses, utensils and equipment are cleaned, sanitized and stored in the proper place. The average wage starts at $8 per hour.
General Manager: This position is responsible in overseeing the restaurant operation. He/She will efficiently and profitably and that everybody is working for the attainment of company goals. Hence, he will be planning, directing and coordinating a variety of activities for the restaurants. The manager is responsible to keep up the high standards of food, services provided by the company and also ensure health and safety practices. The average wage starts at $12 per hour.
Cook : This position is responsible in preparing food using the restaurant specifications in a timely manner and according to recipes and menus. He/She must observe all food safety standards including proper food preparation. The average wage starts at $8 per hour.
Server: This position is responsible for serving the foods ordered by the customers; he is also to respond the customer inquiries about the foods being served; ensure food presentation standards and should deal with customers properly. The average wage starts at $3 per hour plus tips.
