History of Delia*s

Founded back in 1993, Delia’s focuses on girls, as well as younger women that are between the ages of 12 and 19.  Here, you can find everything from shoes to makeup, as well as furnishings for your room.    You can find most of these stores in your local Mall.  They employ well over 1,500 employees nationwide.

Job Description / Average Wage

Sales Associate: Your duties are going to include stocking the clothing, folding it on the shelves, as well as making sure that the store stays clean.  You will run the cash register, process returns, and more.  If the customer has a problem, you will be sure to assist them with the problems that they may have.  The average wage is $7 to $11 a hour.

Cashier: As a cashier, you’re going to make sure that the customer is happy with his/her purchase.  You’re going to help ring them up, answer questions, as well as help process returns if someone brings them in.   The cashier will also handle cash, credit card and gift card transactions.  The average wage for this position is anywhere from $7 to $9 a hour.

Stocker: You’re going to help manage the backroom where you’ll unload boxes, unpack them, as well as make sure that they are priced right.  You’re going to also bring the items to the front of the store where you will make sure that the item is in the right spot.  The average wage is anyhwere from $7 to $9 a hour.

Assistant Manager / Co Manager: You will answer to the main manager.  You will help open, as well as close the store.  You will basically perform all the duties that the sales associate is going to do.   On occasion, you will have to override a transaction that only the manager can do.  The average wage for this position is $9 to $15 a hour.

Main Manager: You will run the store.  You will open up the shop, as well as close it down.  You will create the schedule, as well as hire,  and fire your employees.  You will also make sure that the store is running at 100%.  You will answer to the district manager.  Your average wage starts at $12+ a hour.

Other positions: Seasonal stock, fashion representative
