Job Description / Average Wage

Front Desk Clerk: You will be responsible for greeting guests as they come into the hotel. You will assign them a room, as well as answer any questions that they have about the hotel.  Since these type of hotels are smaller, you will be asked to do more jobs such as cleaning the lobby, helping with coffee, and more.  The average wage reported is $7 to $9 a hour.

Housekeeping / Maid: You will be responsible for cleaning the rooms in the hotel.  You will help with restocking the bathrooms, cleaning the sheets, as well as dusting, vacuuming and more.  You will want to meet all corporate standards.  You will also work in laundry, where you will help with washing, and drying sheets as well as organizing the cleaning room.  The average wage is $7+ a hour.

Night Auditor:  As a night auditor, you’re going to work the night shift assisting with reservations as well as making sure that the guests are happy with their stay.  You’ll also be in charge of filing paperwork to ensure that all of the numbers throughout the day have matched up to numbers in the book.  The average wage can range anywhere from $9 to $12 per hour.

Manager:  Overseeing the entire hotel, you’re going to be in charge of making sure that the hotel is ran according to plan.  You’re going to help assist guests, help take care of problems as well as make sure that the employees are doing their job according to plan.  If any problems do come about, you’ll be required to answer to the franchise manager.  The average wage for this position starts at $38,000+ a year.
