History of Cablevision

Founded back in 1973, Cablevision today is the 8th biggest cable provider in the entire United States.  Most of their customers reside in the states of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, as well as Pennsylvania.  They also offer other packages such as phone services, and Internet.  On an annual basis, they do well more than $7 billion in revenue.  They also employ close to 15,000+ employees.

Job Description / Average Wage

Customer Service: You will either work at an actual location, or you’re going to work in a call center.  You will answer phones, as well as assist customers with any problems they need help with.  You will try to help with their problems, as well as transfer them to the appropriate department.  The average wage for this position is $12 to $19 a hour.

Sales Representative: You’re going to work in sales, where you will sign up customers, go door to door handing out flyers, as well as assisting new customers.  You will also call existing customers to up sell them on services that they may want to add.  You will find that you will get incentives and more.  You will, on average, make $13+ a hour.

Account Executive:  The account executive is going to work with those that already have accounts with Cablevision.  You’re going to want to make sure that all current customers are happy with their service.  If they have any problems with their service, you’re going to do  your best in order to fix it.  You’re going to either help set up appointments for a tech or even send out new equipment.  The average wage for an executive is $10 to $22 a hour.

Tech Support:  You’ll be in charge of answering phone calls for those that have technical issues with either their Internet or even their TV.  You’ll try your best to follow protocols in order to get it fixed.  If the problem can’t be resolved, you’ll have to send a tech to the location.  The average wage is anywhere from $16 to $23 per hour.

Supervisor: You will be assigned to a department to watch activities.  You will make sure that everything is running at 100%.  If you have any problems, you will refer to upper management.  You will help with phone calls and more.   Your average wage starts around $13+ a hour.
