History of Boscov’s

Founded in 1911, this department store is primarily found on the east coast, in the mid-atlantic states such as Maryland, New York and more.  Boscov’s is one of the last family owned department stores that are standing.  Each year, they continue to do over $1 billion in sales.

While the company has filed for bankruptcy, they successfully exited back in 2009.  Their headquarters are located in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Job Description / Average Wage

Sales Person: This position is going to require you to work in a particular department.  You’re going to be in charge of stocking shelves, cleaning the departments, assisting customers, as well as helping them at the cash register.  You’re also going to assist with other various duties such as helping in the backroom and more.  The average wage is $7 to $15 a hour.

Sales Manager: You will usually work in one department, where you will make sure that everything is organized, you will stock shelves, help customers with any orders that they need processed, as well as make sure that everyone is happy with their shopping experience.  The average wage is $7 to $15 a hour.
