The original name of Best Buy was Sound of Music, but in 1983,Sound of Music changed their name to Best Buy Co. Inc. In that same year, Best Buy opened its first superstore in Burnsville, Minnesota. Ever since, the company has blossomed into the mega-store it is today.

Job Descriptions / Wage Averages

Cashier: As a Cashier your job will include: providing friendly, and fast processing of customer related transactions including; financing, returns, and exchanges. Another task you will be obligated to complete, is you will have to ensure customer concerns and needs are met, and assist in achievement of store and department customer care and sales goals and objectives. You will be go through and orientation and will attend ongoing training. The average hourly wage for this position is somewhere from $7 to $10 dollars

Geek Squad: The Geek Squad is in charge of running the technology counter.   You’re going to assist customers with computer repair related issues, as well as other items such as help with installing TVs, networks, as well as setting up TVs and more.       There are many various levels to this particular position.   The average wage for this position is going to vary anywhere from $8 to $18 a hour.
